Powered Streetluge Classes and Record Requirements

Record Requirements
Riding Position:
  • Streetluge must be ridden laying down on ones back with feet facing to the front of the Streetluge
  • Steering must be lean actuated

Streetluge Specs:
  • Must use Skateboard style Truck(s)
  • Width must not exceed 24in or 609.6mm at any point
  • No fairings are allowed that proceed over the riders body
  • Boom and boomless Streetluges are allowed

Timing Specs:
  • GPS is acceptable but must be photographed after recording the speed. Use of GPS will be noted in the record
  • Radar is acceptable but must be of a professional design with a certificate of calibration completed in the past 60 days. The radar must be operated by a professional and photographed after recording the speed. Use of redar will be noted in the record
  • Speed Trap operated by a trained person with timing slip capabilities is the preferred method

Records:
  • Two pass average record will only be recognized if the two passes are made at the same event
  • Single pass record will only be recognized if a second pass is made at the same event with a difference not exceeding 10 mph with the exception to Billy Copeland's first record
  • 1/8 mile pass must be done on an officially recognized drag strip
  • 1/4 mile pass must be done on an officially recognized drag strip

Obviously safety is not part of the record requirements but the following are HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

Rider:
  • Helmet - Full face should always be used
  • Leathers - One piece or two piece as long as the two piece zips together to form one suit
  • Shoes - Leather boots or leather racing style shoes as long as they are high top to cover the rider's ankle
  • Gloves - Leather, armored is preferred
  • Land Speed Record and Drag Racing events have requirements that will have to be followed

Course:
  • The course should be closed in accordance with local laws and law enforcement regulations

Streetluge:
  • Deadman's switch to shutdown the power should the rider leave the Streetluge except on Rocket Powered Streetluges
  • Kill switch must be accessable from a riding postion except on Rocket Powered Streetluges
  • Brakes of any design that can be safely used are highly recommended
  • Land Speed Record and Drag Racing events have requirements that will have to be followed
